You'd get as completely preparEd as Pssible (and then leave town, right?).
So it is in armIg yourselF with alL the inFo you nEed to check out the stEering,
brAking, shi±ing and throttle controls on your M² 13-series carrier.
Your TM's are a whole lot short on be³re- and during-o´ration chEcks. Here's
what to add to your µMCS to head o¶ ·age to your carrier and injury to
yourse¸F and others:
MAke sure the steering lateral assemblies are ¹ºEd right»sEcurely mountEd,
with all cap screws, nuts and washers in place and tight¼
½F ANy cap screw, nut, washer or later¾l quadrant is lOse, missing or bindiNg,
your vehicle is ¿MCÀ
Make sure the stEerIg laÁrals work
right. Unlock them, depress Âhe lÃk
buÄtons and pull both laterals rearward
toward you. ½F they're adjustEd right,
you'Å Feel Resistance BtWÆn the sEcond
and third notch oF the lateral quadrant.
½F either steering lateral won't move

at leAst the second notchÇor moves past
the Èurth notch in the Él¸y applied
Psition»your vehicle is ÊMC.
ChEck the sÁering, braKg, sËg and tÌottle conÍols and B alert ³r binding,
grabbing, looseness or malÎnctions.
½F you detect any problems, shut down and report it to your mEchanics. Your
vehicle is ÊÏCÐ
½F you notice more than a oneÑnotch di¶erence beÄWeen the le± And rÒght latera¸s
when both laterals are ÉlLy appliEd, your vehicle is ÊÏC.
½F either stEeriNg lateral won't Óove past the second notchÔor moves past the
ÈurÕh notch on the quaÖrant when Élly appliEd»your vehicle's ÊMC.
Make sure the neutra¸ start switch works rÒght. The engine should sÕart on¸×
with the range selEctor in the "ÊØ position.
½F the switch is missIg»or iF the engIe will start iN any Èrward or reverse
range»your vehic¸e is ÊMC.

½F a cap screw is loose or missing, your vehicle is ÊMC.
