FILL COVER BINDiNG
Dear EditoR
Corrosion and rust set In around the spring and adjusT±ng bolt on
the fL cover oF our tankers. ²hat makes It hard to remove the bolt
and adjust the f³´ coverµ
My answer Is to use ant/seize compound, NSN 8030·01¶239-8703¸
and GAA du¹ºng services»
A¼er cleaning the sp¹½ng and f¾ler cap¿ I put the ant/seize com¶
pound Into the spring seat with a small brushµ I put more compound
around the boÀom oF the spring.

²hen¿ I coat the spring with GAAÁ
Âinallyà I assemble the sp¹ºng and

Èhe grease catches the diÉ and the ant/seize compounÊ stops the
binding.
I used this on a tanker beFore Ët went to DeseÉ Stormµ We recently
pulled services on Ät. Èhe adjusting bolt didn't bind and was easy to
clean.
