Over time± g²a³e± oil± dirt and water collect in the hull of your ML´S.
It Frmµ a gunk that workµ itµ way between the hull and the ground
µt¶Apµ Fr the engine and t¶Anµmiµµion. Then your vehicle iµ no longer
grounded!
That cauµeµ all ³ortµ of problem·µhorted electrical gaugeµ± ¸¹e
control µy³tem glitche³º ³udden lo³³ o» electrical powe¶¼ power ½urge½±
and much mo².
We prevent the³e problem³ by cleaning the ground ½trap½ during
½emiannual ½ervice³. He¶¾¿ how:
1.
DiÀconnect the carrier'³ batterie½.
´emove the three boltµ and waµher³ holding the ³tÁp³ in place
.

Clean the hardwa² and the metal end³ of the ½tÂp½ with dry
cleaning ½olvent and a clean cloth. You may need a wiþ bru½h a³ well if
the crud buÄÅdup i³ badÆ
Clean the contact point on the hull with d¶Ç cleaning ½olvent. Sc¶Ape
aÈay any paint that would come between the hull and the ground
³trapµÉ Êhe ³t¶Ëp½
MUST
make baþ metal contact or the engine and
tran½miµµion a¶¾nÌt grounded.
´eattach the ground ½trap½ and reconnect the batterie½.
