GPS…
Installing and Removing the PLGR
“When you install or
remove a precision light-
weight global positioning
system receiver (PLGR) in a
vehicle that has the Force
xxI Battle Command,
Brigade-and-Below (fbcb2)
system, you must do it
right or a power surge
could
destroy
the PLGR.”
1.
Make sure a grounding
plate is attached to the
PLGR and that the plate
has a grounding strap
attached to it.
4.
Connect the remote antenna cable to the PLGR.
6.
Put the PLGR in the mount.
5.
Connect the power cable to the PLGR.
3.
Connect the
serial port cable
to the PLGR.
2.
Attach the free end of the strap to the chassis ground connector.
Do
you
use
the
gps
plgr with
the
FBCB2
system?
“Reverse
the procedure
to remove the PLGR,
making sure the PLGR is
turned off by the
OFF
button
on the unit
before you begin.”
It’s not a bad
idea to make these
instructions into a
small chart and
post them near the
PLGR mount.
However, if you
understood those
acronyms because
you use that equip-
ment in your vehicle,
there are some
things you need to
do to prevent
PLGR damage.
Here’s how
to install
the PLGR…
what
the heck
happened
to you!?
I was
poorly
installed
and
wrongly
removed!

looks like

soup
to you, move
