B
atteries are known to run down on self-propelled vibratory rollers.
So-o-o-o, after the day’s run, make sure you turn
off the battery disconnect switch that’s located
behind the curbside engine access door. If you
don’t,
the batteries will lose their charge within three to
Fve days! No juice means your roller needs a slave
start—or you won’t go anywhere!
You’ll Fnd this kindly PMCS reminder in Step 17
on Page 2-15 of TM 5-3895-363-10.
MRAP
users, contact between the patient and the litter support arms can cause further
injury during transport on the MaxxPro Plus ambulance. To prevent this:
50 kilovolt (kV) lines = 10 feet clearance
51-200 kV lines
= 15 feet clearance
201-300 kV lines
= 20 feet clearance
•
Do not touch the power lines! Most lines are not
insulated.
•
Scan for unexpected low-hanging lines in the
area. Be aware of the hazards they might present.
•
Make sure there’s enough clearance between the
MRAP—including any antennas—and any power
line. The driver and passengers need to work as a
team and keep an eye out for suspect lines.
•
Avoid making radio transmissions while crossing
under power lines. An electric charge from the
power lines can pass to the vehicle without direct
contact.
•
Pre-load and secure empty litters in
the litter berths

make sure there’s a

the risk by

accidental contacts with
overhead power lines are on the
rise in southwest asia (swa).
that’s mainly because new power
lines are going up as the region’s
infrastructure is being rebuilt.
