Common DA Form 2408-9 Errors

Year of MFG is missing—This info must appear on all DA Form 2408-9 reports
Usage quantities unacceptable (too high or less than previous month)
DA Form 2408-9…
Unit property book officers
and other Soldiers
regularly submit DA Forms
2408-9, Equipment Control
Records, to the Logistics
Support Activity (LOGSA).
But, important details are sometimes
missing
or
incorrect.
And any database is only as good as the data that goes into it.
LOGSA maintains the
TAMMS Equipment
Database (TEDB),
a record of
equipment by serial
and registration
numbers.
The TEDB stores all data
submitted on a DA Form
2408-9. This data helps
the Army track reportable
items from the time they
enter the inventory until
final disposition.
But
without
accurate
information, the
Army cannot
correctly gauge
its inventory or
readiness.
The
DA Form
2408-9 is
used for…
if you think of each DA Form 2408-9
as the record of title, license and
registration for the item it represents,
just like a POV’s, then you’ll realize how
important it is!
So, take a little more time
to do it right. For questions
or help, email:
logsa.tedb@conus.army.mil
Though sent in
electronically
now, the forms
still take time
and effort to
fill out.
a lot of soldiers don’t grasp the
importance
of every da form 2408-9…
