Pitching
Tents…
Here are some
general guidelines
for using pins with
your
vinyl-coated
polyester
tent…
Remember to take
varying sizes.
Store
pins in a strong bag
(canvas works well)
and pack them with
the tent.
Use a wooden
mallet to drive
wooden pins.
Use a
sledge or
4-lb hammer
to drive large
metal pins.
Make sure you have the
right number
of pins for
your tent. Count them.
Then pack
spares
in case
you damage or lose
some.
Army tents come
in
many sizes,
shapes and styles.
But they all
share
one thing in
common…
They
need
anchors
to hold
them
down.
Whether you
call them
stakes, pegs or
pins, it makes
no difference.
The point is,
they grip the
ground and
hold your tent
firmly in place.
that’s what counts when you’re facing
wind, rain or snow.
