± The±GLPS±can±be±powered±through±
its±own±battery±or±by±using±its±power±
adapter±and±connecting±it±to±a±vehicle±
power±supply±through±the±NATO±plug.±
± Unfortunately,±many±GLPS±batteries±
have±reached±the±end±of±their±life±and±
no± longer± charge± properly.± (If± you±
charge±a±battery±like±it±says±in±Section±
II± of± TM± 9-6675-347-13&P± and± the±
battery± shows± a± charge± of± less± than±
80± percent,± the± battery± needs± to± be±
sent±in±for±maintenance.)±So±the±only±
power± choice± then± is± vehicle± power.±
And± that’s± where± the± damage± can±
occur.
± The± GLPS± gyros± are± very± sensitive±
to± voltage± spikes± from± the± vehicle.±
The±way±to±prevent±these±spikes±is±to±
first± shut± off± the± vehicle± before± you±
power± up± the± GLPS.±
And leave the
vehicle off while the GLPS is on.
