Secure those cables!
Every year
launcher cables are ripped out because
they’ve been left dangling. When the
launcher swings around, it catches
those loose cables and r-i-i-i-p. One
unit lost a J box, cables and wiring
harness this way. Total bill: $491,032.
To help you secure the cables, you can order a launcher cable clamp assembly,
NSN
4030-01-582-8341. Then use the diagrams on Page 37 to secure the cables with
clamps and straps.

Carefully remove missile desiccant
panels.
To
change
the
missiles’
desiccant, you have to remove the
panel. But you must remove and install
the back plate bolts in the proper order
and use the right torque or you can
crack the panel. That could mean you
have to code out the missile.
