THEORY OF OPERATION

GENERAL
1.
The Air Conditioning Kit for the M915A2P1 and M916A1P1 consists of the following, as illustrated and described in
the
RPSTL
(WP 0029 00):

The Air Conditioning Kit consists of the following components:
a.
Compressor
b.
Condenser
c.
Evaporator assembly
d.
Hoses and electrical harness
e.
Receiver/dryer
f.
RFI filter

This Air Conditioning Kit is installed on an armored vehicle to control the temperature inside the cab. A belt-driven
compressor is installed on the engine, a condenser is installed below the vehicle radiator, an evaporator assembly is
installed on the interior of the cab, and a receiver/dryer is installed on the outside of the cab. Refrigerant is transferred to
each of these components through O-ring sealed hoses. Electrical power is tied into the existing electrical system on the
vehicle. The entire system is controlled by a switch with A/C ON/OFF and three speed fan control, and adjustable ther-
mostat located on the evaporator assembly.
