INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL
INITIAL SETUP
Tools
Extension, 6-inch, 1/2-inch drive
Handle, ratchet, 1/2-inch drive
Socket, 9/16-inch, 1/2-inch drive
Wrench, open-end, 1-inch
Personnel Required
Two
Equipment Condition
Aneroid control valve removed (page 2-25).

1. Intake manifold (1)

Air compressor hose
Using 1-inch open-end wrench, loosen
nuts (2)
and disconnect.
Seven screws (3),
Using 1/2-inch drive 9/16-inch socket,
seven lockwashers
6-inch extension, and ratchet handle,
(4) and seven flat
unscrew and take out.
washers (5)
Discard lockwashers.
WARNING
Due to excessive weight, assistance will be needed to prevent personal injury when
lifting heavy parts.
3. Cylinder head (6)
Intake manifold (1)
With assistance, take off.
and three gaskets (7)
Discard gaskets.
