Operation of a deadlined vehicle without a preliminary examination can cause further damage to a
disabled component and possible injury to personnel. By careful inspection and troubleshooting, such
damage and injury can be avoided. In addition, the causes of faulty operation of a vehicle or com-
ponent can often be determined without extensive disassembly.
Before attempting welding repairs on the asphalt tank, make sure that the tank is thoroughly clean.
Use Detrox process, or equal.
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not exceed 36 PSI. Use only with effective chip guard-
ing and personal protective equipment (goggles/shield, gloves, etc.).
