11-45. TRAILER BRAKE HAND CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (CONT).

b. Installation.

WARNING

Adhesives, solvents, and sealing

compounds can burn easily, can give off

harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin

and clothing. To avoid injury or death,

keep away from open fire and use in

well-ventilated area. If adhesive,

solvent, or sealing compound gets on

skin or clothing, wash immediately with

soap and water.

Coat threads of connector (1) and two

elbows (2) with pipe thread sealing

compound.

Install connector (1) and two

elbows (2) in hand control valve (3).

Connect air lines (4 and 5) to valve (3).

Install hand control valve (3) in side

panel (6) with four screws (7) and

nuts (8).

Install side panel (6) on console (9)

with eight screws (10).

c. Follow-on Maintenance.

Connect batteries (para 7-91).

Start engine and build up air

pressure (TM 9-2320-279-10).

(3)

Check for leaks (TM 9-2320-279-10).

(4)

Shut off engine (TM 9-2320-279-10).
