Install same number and size of

shims (32) recorded in disassembly

step (42).

WARNING

Adhesives, solvents, and sealing

compounds can burn easily, can give off

harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin

and clothing. To avoid injury or death,

keep away from open fire and use in

well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent,

or sealing compound gets on skin or

clothing, wash immediately with soap and

water.

Apply sealing compound to flange of

bearing cage (23).

Install bearing cage (23) on differential

carrier (17).

Apply thread locking compound to threads of six

screws (33) and install screws and six lockwashers (34).

Tighten screws to 155 to 175 lb-ft (210 to 237 N·m).

Coat outside diameter of bearing cage (23) with sealing

compound.

Install bearing cup (35) in bearing adjuster (36).
