13-24. REAR CROSSMEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (M984E1) (CONT).

a. Removal

(1)

Remove two locknuts (1), clamps (2), and screws

(3). Move wire harness

(4) away from rear

crossmember (6).

Remove two nuts (6), lockwashers (7), and screws (8). Move emergency towing gladhand

bracket (9) aside.

NOTE

Not all models have star-shaped lockwashers. Star-shaped lockwashers are only

on screw closest to pintle.

. Remove two nuts (10), lockwashers (11), lockwashers (11.1) and screws (12). Move service towing

gladhand bracket (13) aside.
