M1977-CBT has 10 spring leaves and no spacer plates.

M984, M985 and M985E1 have 12 spring plates and 3 spacer plates.

M984E1 has 12 spring plates.

Position spring plates (7,8,9,10,11, and 12) and three spacer plates (13) on spring

assembly (14).

Aline holes in spring assembly (14), spring plates (7 through 12), and spacer plates (13) and

install screw (6).

Compress spring assembly (14). Install

nut (15) and tighten to 65 to 75 lb-ft (88

to 102 N•m).

Install two spacers (16), screws (17), and

nuts (18).
