TIRE CHAINS INSTALLATION/REMOVAL
a.
Rear Axle Tire Chain Installation.
Do not change tire pressure with tire chains installed.
Changing
tire pressure with tire chains installed could result in chain
slippage.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury to
personnel or damage to equipment.
(1)
Place tire chain (1) on ground with cross chain connecting links (2) facing down.
(2)
Start engine (para 2-21a or b).
WARNING
CAUTION
•
When installing tire chains on vehicle rear wheels, ensure CTIS is in
HIGHWAY Mode at all times and maximum speed is 10 mph (16 km/h).
Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
•
Tire chains must not be used when driving on hard surfaces where there is
no wheel slippage.
Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Maximum speed limit for vehicles with tire chains on highways is 10
mph (16 km/h).
Maximum speed limit for vehicles with tire chains off
highway is 15 mph (24 km/h).
