M1078 AND M1083 SERIES TOWING CONNECTION/

DISCONNECTION

Front Connection.

•

Intermediate axle driveshaft must be removed on M1083 series

vehicles prior to performing a front connection lift and tow.

Failure to

comply may result in damage to transmission of towed vehicle.

•

Rear axle driveshaft must be removed on M1078 series vehicles prior

to performing a front connection lift and tow.

Failure to comply may

result in damage to transmission of towed vehicle.

Notify Unit Maintenance to remove driveshaft.

(1.1) Remove two chains (1), emergency tow lights (2), tow lights cable (3), tow

interconnect cable (4), two intervehicular air hoses (5), shackles (5.1), and clevis

pins (5.2) from tool box.
