Check spring shackles and spring bushings for
damage and for missing mounting hardware.
Refer to Appendix H for lubrication of spring bushings.
SPRING SHACKLE/BUSHING TEST
(1)
Position tire iron between spring assembly and
frame.
(2)
Pry up and down and ensure there is no
movement.
(3)
Shackles or bushings are damaged if
movement occurs.
