SUSPENSION SYSTEM OPERATION

The suspension system is an independent coil spring-type system. Major
components of the suspension system are:

BALL JOINTS - Connect geared hub to control arms, and allow change of
angle between geared hub and control arms during suspension movement.
UPPER
CONTROL
ARM
- Connects geared hub to frame rail.
STABILIZER
BAR (FRONT ONLY) - Prevents vehicle sway when
cornering.
GEARED HUB - Serves as a mounting point for wheel and tire assembly
and provides 1.921 gear reduction to increase torque to wheel and tire
assembly.
LOWER CONTROL ARM - Connects geared hub to crossmember.
SHOCK ABSORBER
- Dampens suspension movement and limits amount
of suspension travel.
COIL SPRING - Supports weight of vehicle and allows suspension travel
to vary depending on terrain and vehicle loading.
