Always use caution when approaching
a hot engine.
Failure to do so may
result in serious bums.

Look for excessive whiie exhaust smoke,
steam
leaks in the
engine compartment,
and oil in the coolant.
Other signs include
excess condensation
in the exhaust system, or white joints in the
exhaust system.
You can also feel the coolant hoses to see if they
have high pressure caused by leaking combustion
gasses. Also. if
the glow plugs turn off very quickfy after starting the engine, or if
the engine overheats,
or has excessive coolant consumption,
you
may have a head gasket problem.
