TOWING TRAILER
WARNING
Before moving trailer, ensure that all loose equipment is properly stowed
and that nothing will drag on ground. If trailer is loaded, ensure that load
is properly secured. Ensure landing gear is rotated up and locked in
transport position. Ensure parking brake is disengaged. Failure to follow
this warning may result in injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
NOTE
Limited braking often occurs during backup but does not interfere with
maneuvering trailer. Operator should back up slowly and steadily to avoid
jamming. Do not lurch.
1.
Perform all “During” Operator/Crew PMCS while operating the trailer (WP 0017 00).
2.
When towing, overall length of trailer must be kept in mind when passing other vehicles and when
turning.
3.
Turning and backing operations will be affected because towing vehicle and trailer are a hinged unit.
4.
Always tow trailer at safe speeds and note any driving irregularities.
