OPERATE CARRIER OVER ROUGH TERRAIN — Continued
0061 00
DRIVE CARRIER ON SNOW, ICE, OR MUD
CAUTION
Sharp turns on snow, ice, or mud can cause carrier to throw a track. Make a series of small
wide turns instead of one sharp turn.
NOTE
Do not drive on snow-covered grades unless you have to. If you do, go as straight up and down
the slope as you can.
1.
Use a low transmission range that moves carrier smoothly without digging in. Drive slowly to avoid skidding.
2.
Slow carrier smoothly before making a turn.
3.
If carrier breaks through crust of deep snow or soft soil, steer carrier straight to get back on crust.
