SECTION II. Tools

B-2. General.

Tools listed in this appendix will enhance crew members and mechanics at all levels to

accomplish Battlefield Damage and Assessment repairs in a more expedient manner.

Some tools listed may already be on hand in the unit.

The column marked “Level” indicates the maintenance level at which it is recommended

these items be stocked or carried. The unit commander may modify the items in the

list and the maintenance levels carrying the items, based on current mission

requirements and recent operational experience.

The items marked “C” (Crew) are recommended to be carried on the vehicle for use in

combat emergencies at the discretion of the unit commander. Those items marked

“MT” are recommended to be carried by each Battlefield Damage Assessment and

Repair Maintenance Team (MT). Some of these items may already be available at

organizational maintenance, however, additional items will be required to stock each

MT. Those items marked "0" are recommended to be stocked at organizational and

those marked "MST" are recommended to be carried by the DS maintenance support

teams (MST).
