Even though Step 3 on Page 2´35 oF
TM 9´1015³234³10 (Aug 85) says 300
mils and nothing eLse, your local unit
S»P can prescribe a di¼erent set½ing·
The TM erRor wiLl be corrected to say
that the assistant gunner sets 300 miLs or
another eLevatioN dictated by unit S»P
on the¾ M 14A 1
quadrant eLevation
Always ´ake Grille Suppor± Off
¿aking a shortcut with the intake griLle support assembLy, oÀ armor jack, is a
sureFiÀe ticket to a busted Àadiator, mechs·
The support must be removed as shown in the TM's beFOre puLLing the power¸
pack and instaLLed aFter the pack is in pLace·
»therwise, there's so LittLe cLearance between the radiator and the support that
it's aLmost impossibLe to prevent damage·

You may think you're saving time and work by Leaving the support in pLace,
but you won't have saved a thing iF you ruin a radiator·
ÂememberÃtake the support o¼ and puLL the pack out· Put the pack in and
