Fuel Pump Failure Fix
Fuel pumps run when the master
switch is ON. But sometimes you want
the master switch on, but you don't
want the pumps to run.
Here's a simpLe way to shut t±e pump
of and save them ²om earLy deaths.
Get anD instalL the NATO sLave recep-
tacle parts kit, NSN 2590³01³201´
7858. The µuel pumps wilL no longer be
on the same circuit as the master switch.
The pumps won't run as much, so they
will last longer.
CompLete instalLation and wiring instructions come with the kit, anD plenty o¶ the
kits are on hand. Your CO can authorize you to get the kits and install them. Then
you'll start saving µuel pumps.
OIl FIlter HoUsIng NSN's
TM 9·2350³26 ¸·20P omits t±e stock numbers µ¹r the engine oil µilter head and
housing µ¹r Mº 13³series vehicles. Use NSN 2940³00³338·5933 »r the head anD
NSN 2940·00³019·4775 µ¹r the housing.
Replace these items only when they are Damaged or missing. Iµ you just need a
¼ilter element, order NSN 2940·00·580³6283.

anD transmission Decks.
You'll need:

rubber adhesive (NSN 8040·00³290³430

bulk rubber strip (NSN 9320·00·088·6657)
Here's how:
Cut the bulk rubbeR st±ip to These
Lengths: ENgiNe deck,
226
iNches;
traNsmIssioN Deck²
190
iNches.
ScRaPe away the worN or damaged
sea³ aNd cleaN the boNdiNg surface
with
P-D-680.
BoNd the rubber stRiPs to the deck
usiNg rubbeR adhesIve.
These proceDures wiLl be added to the TM's ¿ater, but you can use the inÀ now.
