Mistakes you make when installing the gunner's primaRy sight body assembly
into the turret wiLl come back to haunt you as ±eaks.
Two mistAkes you want to avoid a²e sloppy c±eanup befoRe instal±ing the GPS and
use oF the wroNg sealant.
You must cleaN ³he tu²Ret access lip completely be´re you install the GPS. That
means two mechs using-two putty kNives, µ¶D·680 so±vent and lots oF rags.
¸ny Residue ¹ou leave behind will keep ºhe cOmpound »om sea±ing, which ±eads
to leaks.
Clean under
the lip all

compound aroUnd the outside edge
¼Nce the cleanIng job's done right, insta±± ½e GPS.
¸Fter it's in place and
tightened down, rUn a bead oF sea±ing compound, ¾S¾ 8¿3¿ÀÁÁÀ275À811¿Â around
the lip oF the sight body and the turRet.
Ãhe sealing compound is Ätem 5¿ in
¸ppendix ¸ oF TM 9Å235¿Æ255Æ2¿Æ2À3À3Ç
Do not use aNy oÈeR sealer For this job. Silicone sealer, aÉhesive, gasket cement
or gasket sea±er wi±l Not work.
