When loads are applied to the boom cable, all personnel must move
away to a safe distance. If the load falls, it could cause serious injury or
death to personnel.
Always wear heavy leather gloves when handling wire rope. Never let
wire rope run through hands. Frayed wire rope can cut hands.
Grove M984 is used on M984E1 wrecker. The crane used on the M984
wrecker is the HIAB model 8109. Failure to use proper procedure for
crane load testing may result in injury to personnel and/or damage to
equipment.
Rotate crane either left or right, but never over crane operator. Injury to
personnel and/or damage to equipment may occur if crane fails during
rotational maneuver.
