Slowly rotate the winch barrel

approximately 1/2 turn in order to position the keyhole

located on the

left end plate

of the winch barrel

at the top.

Install the ball end

of the winch corner cable

(5)

into the keyhole

located on the left end plate

the winch barrel

Have a person wearing gloves hold both the winch corner cable

and the right hand cable

(6)

behind

the winch in order to guide the cables onto the winch barrel

. Rotate the ratchet handle

(7)

and begin

taking up the cable onto the winch barrel

. Ensure that the cable is wound into the grooved recesses

on the winch barrel

(1)

and that the cable remains in a single layer, each turn parallel to the one

before.

Continue turning the winch barrel

(1)

until all cable slack is taken up and the cables are taut.
