Prepare surface for painting by removing all corrosion by wire brushing, sanding, or application of
corrosion-removing compounds.
Chemically treat all aluminum parts in accordance with MIL-C-5541, Class 1A.
Areas to be painted shall be free of dust, residue, and cleaning compounds before refinishing.
Solvent, primer or paint shall not be applied to seals or non-metal parts. Mask such parts with masking
tape for protection.
