A MULTIFUNCTIONVALVE(10)controlsthe springbrakechambersby usingthe air reservoirsfor
normal service braking, but reserving sufficient air pressure in the center air reservoir to provide the
required spring brake release in the event of a service system failure.

A RELAY EMERGENCY
VALVE (11) controls brake application to the rear axle by releasing reservoir air
to the brake chambers.
Itautomatically
applies emergency braking to the rear axle ifthe semitrailer
breaks
away from the truck tractor.

THREE AIR RESERVOIRS (12) are attached to the frame. They provide a supply of air-through the
emergency
relay valve, the multifunction valve, andthe
relay emergency valve-for
applying the brakes.
The air reservoirs are equipped with drain cocks (13) for draining accumulations of moisture and for
releasing
air pressure in the semitrailer airbrake system.
