Unhook gladhands (1) and intervehicular cable connector (2) from towing vehicle.

Remove lifting-eye pin (3) (found only on the M870A1). Attach winch cable assembly (4)to lifting eye (5).

Forthe
M870, remove two locking pins (6), one from each side of semitrailer. Install two safety nuts (7),
bolts (8), safety locking pins (9), and safety clips (10) on locking pins (6), to prevent loss. Forthe M870A1,
remove locking pin (6) from each side of trailer.
