SYMPTOM

MALFUNCTION

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Parking brake is stuck.

PARKING BRAKE

DOES NOT

RELEASE.

STEP 1. With transmission shift lever in P (Park),

depress brake pedal and increase brake pressure

to 1,000 psi (6895 kPa) on brake pressure gauge,

and shift transmission to N (Neutral). Refer to

WP 0013. If parking brake does not release, go to

step 2.

WARNING

Personnel may be struck or pinned

by uncontrolled vehicle movement.

Block vehicle tracks with chock

blocks to prevent uncontrolled vehicle

movement. Failure to comply may

result in personnel injury or death.

STEP 2. Remove transmission shroud. Refer to

WP 0033.

STEP 3. With transmission shift lever in N (Neutral),

manually pry bellcrank (Figure 1, Item 1) (without

forcing) and listen for brakes to release.
