INTRODUCTION
1-1. Purpose and Scop e
This manual provides transportability guidanc e
for logistic handling and movement of th e
trucks, 5-ton, 6x6, M809-series. It provide s
transportation officers down to division leve l
and other personnel engaged in or responsibl e
for movement or providing transportation ser -
vices with information considered appropriat e
to safe transport. Significant technical an d
physical characteristics as well as safety con -
siderations required for worldwide movemen t
by the various modes of transportation are in -
cluded. When considered necessary, metri c
equivalents are given in parentheses followin g
dimensions or other measurement .

tice that, if not strictly observed, could result i n
