b. Installation
1. Install new bushing (7) on each leaf spring mounting bracket (6).
2. Position two leaf spring mounting brackets (6) on spring (1).
WARNING
Ensure vehicle is firmly supported while spring is installed.
Failure to do so may result in injury to personnel.
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 3.
3. Aline two leaf spring mounting brackets (6) on axles (8) and position spring (1) on spring seat (16).
NOTE
Perform step 4 on the rear-rear axle. Perform step 4 again on the
forward-rear axle.

Raise and support axle (8). Install bracket (5), leaf spring mounting bracket (6), and torque rod
mounting bracket (11) on axle (8) with four screws (4), new lockwashers (10), and nuts (9). Lower
supported axle (8). Tighten nuts (9) 200-275 lb-ft (271-373 N•m).
5. Position spring saddle (2) on spring (1) and install with two U-bolts (3), four new lockwashers (15),
and nuts (14). Tighten nuts (14) 350-400 lb-ft (475-542 N•m).
7. Install two screws (12) and new lockwashers (13) on spring seat (16). Tighten screws (12) 300-365
lb-ft (407-495 N•m).
NOTE
Upon completion of maintenance, test drive vehicle (TM 9-2320-
260-10) and recheck nuts for proper torque, 350-400 lb-ft
(475-542 N•m).
