EQUIPMENT CONDITION

Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-260-10).
Sleeve bearing (Appendix D, Item 5)
Four locknuts (Appendix D, Item 170)
Front and rear level winds are maintained the same. This
procedure covers the rear level wind.
Remove four locknuts (2), screws (9), and two brackets (4) from boom (1). Discard locknuts (2).
1. Remove grease fitting (8) from shaft (7).

Remove cotter pin (3), two brackets (4), and roller (5) from shaft (7). Discard cotter pin (3).

For general cleaning instructions, refer to para. 2-8.
Inspect shaft (7) and roller (5) for bends, breaks, and wear. Replace shaft (7) and roller (5) if bent,
broken, or worn.
Measure inside diameter of sleeve bearings (6). Replace sleeve bearings (6) if inside diameter
exceeds 1.00 ±

in. (25.4 ± .08 mm) for steel or 1.005 ± .001 in. (25.53 ± .03 mm) for bronze.
NOTE
Perform steps 4 through 6 if sleeve bearing(s) require replacement.
Using puller, remove sleeve bearing(s) (6) from roller (5). Discard sleeve bearing(s) (6).
Coat new sleeve bearing(s) (6) with GAA grease.
Using arbor press, install sleeve bearing(s) (6) in roller (5).
