• Do not perform fuel
filter/water separator checks,
inspections, or draining
while smoking or near fire,
flames, or sparks. Fuel could
ignite, causing damage to
vehicle, injury, or death.
• Accidental or intentional
introduction of liquid contam-
inants into the environment
is in violation of state, feder-
al, and military regulations.
Refer to Lubrication Order
(para. 3-1) for information
concerning storage, use, and
disposal of these liquids.
Failure to do so may result in
injury or death.
CAUTION
Do not overtighten plastic
valve. Damaged valve will
result in fuel leaks.
NOTE
If fuel is still unclear after
draining one quart (0.946 l),
notify unit maintenance.

Loosen valve (1) on bottom of
fuel filter and allow the water to
drain into a suitable container.
Close the valve when clean fuel is
visible.

Upper valve (2) may have to
be opened for fuel to drain.

Prime fuel system (para. 3-8).
