General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)
MATERIALS/PARTS
Two gaskets (Appendix D, Item 184)
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Cooling system drained (para. 3-53).
NOTE
Water header plates are mounted with screw-assembled
lockwashers on late model engines.
1.
Remove twelve screws (1), two water header plates (2), and gaskets (3) from cylinder block (4).
Discard gaskets (3).
2.
Clean gasket remains from mating surface of cylinder block (4) and water header plate (2).
Install two new gaskets (3) and two water header plates (2) on cylinder block (4) with twelve screws (1).
