EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Left splash shield removed (para. 3-301).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and toxic. Do not
use near an open flame.
a. Removal
CAUTION
Cap or plug all openings after disconnecting lines and hoses to
prevent contamination. Failure to do so may cause damage to
equipment.
NOTE
Have drainage container ready to catch hydraulic oil.
Plug or cap all hoses.
1.
Loosen clamp (16) and disconnect oil return hose (15) from inlet tube (1).
2.
Disconnect power steering pressure hose (14) from outlet adapter (13).
3.
Remove locknut (8), screw (12), two washers (9), and adjusting link (11) from power steering pump
bracket (6). Discard locknut (8).
4.
Remove two screws (3), lockwashers (4), and washers (5) from power steering pump bracket (6).
Discard lockwashers (4).
5.
Remove two drivebelts (10) from pulley (17).
6.
Remove power steering pump bracket (6) and power steering pump (2) from engine bracket (7).
b. Disassembly
1.
Place power steering pump bracket (6) and power steering pump (2) in vise.
2.
Remove springtite screw (28) and washer (29) from shaft (32). Discard springtite screw (28).
3.
Using mechanical puller, remove pump pulley (17) from shaft (32).
4.
Remove woodruff key (27) from shaft (32). Discard woodruff key (27).
5.
Remove reservoir cap and hook chain (18) from reservoir (20).
