Winch Maintenance Instructions (Cont)

a. Removal.

Remove four screws (1) and lockwashers (2) from winch brake (3).

(2)

Remove winch brake (3), gasket (4), and coupling (5).

(3)

Remove roll pin (6) from coupling (5).

b. Disassembly.

Remove two plugs (1), one

plug (2), and three

preformed packings (3)

from housing (4).

Remove fitting (5) and

preformed packing (6).

Remove six screws (7) and

lockwashers (8).

Position housing (4) in

press.

Hold shaft (9) down with

press and pry cover (10)

loose from housing (4).

Remove housing (4) from

press.

Remove cover (10) from

housing (4).

Remove preformed

packing (11) from

cover (10).

Press bearing (12) from

cover (10).
