12-39. ARCTIC HEATER PLENUM COVER REPLACEMENT

This task covers:

a. Removal

b. Installation

1.

Remove three rivets (1) and retainer (2) from plenum (6).

2.

Remove three rivets (5) and retainer (4) from plenum (6).

3.

Peel cover (3) back and remove from plenum (6).

4.

Clean remaining adhesive from surface of plenum (6).

General mechanic’s tool kit:

automotive (Appendix B, Item 1)

Materials/Parts

Six blind rivets (Appendix G, Item 255)

NOTE

Ensure surface is free of dirt and oil before applying adhesive

backed cover.

1.

Peel backing paper from adhesive-backed cover (3).

NOTE

Ensure cover is attached to all bends and corners.

2.

Install cover (3) on plenum (6) by pressing cover (3) firmly in place.

NOTE

Refer to para. 10-66 for rivet installation.

3.

Install retainer (4) on plenum (6) with three rivets (5).

4.

Install retainer (2) on plenum (6) with three rivets (1).
