NOTE

•

· For general assembly instructions, refer to para. 2-16.

•

· Ensure rubber surface of seal faces yoke seal installer.

1.

Using yoke seal installer, install front output shaft seal (1) and input gear oil seal (2) in front

case (3).

NOTE

•

Ensure input gear oil seal is installed with a 0.125 in. (3.17 mm)

of seal out of front end housing as shown.

•

· Ensure rubber surface of seal faces yoke seal installer.

2.

Using yoke seal installer, install input gear oil seal (2) in front case (3).

3.

Install sector shaft O-ring seal (8) and retainer (9) in front case (3).

4.

Install range sector (4) and operating lever (10) in front case (3) with washer (11) and locknut (12).

Tighten locknut (12) to 28 lb-ft (38 N

•

m).

5.

Install poppet (5), spring (6), and retaining bolt (7) in detent bore in front case (3). Tighten retaining

bolt (7) to 22 lb-ft (30 N.m).

6.

Move operating lever (10) down to last detent.
