HARD STEERING IN ONE DIRECTION.

Step 1.

Check tire pressure.

Inflate tires to proper pressure.

(Refer to

TM 9-2320-283-10).

Step 2.

Inspect vehicle for overload.

Reduce load.

Step 3.

Check hydraulic system pressure (para 3-212).

a.

Replace pump (para 3-219).

b.

Notify direct support maintenance.

HARD STEERING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.

Step 1.

Refer to malfunction 133, steps 1 and 2.

Step 2.

Check hydraulic fluid level.

Add fluid as necessary (Refer to LO 9-2320-283-12).

Step 3.

Check for low pump pressure and flow (para 3-212).

Replace pump (para 3-219).

b.

Notify direct Support maintenance.

Step 4.

Check for restrictions in return line.

Replace (para 3-220).

Step 5.

Check for oversized tires.

(Refer to TM 9-2320-283-10).

Replace tires (para 3-208).
