h. Repair by Insertion.

For damage that is larger or more severe than a crack or hole, it is oRen

desirable to remove damaged area (11, insert a piece of material (3) into removed area and reinforce this

with a doubler (2). This is termed repair by insertion. This method or repair is typicaIly stronger and stiffer

than an added patch.
