WARNING

Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful

vapors, and are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away

from open fire and use in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing

compound gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.

1.

Clean three mounting straps (16) and three fuel tank brackets (17 and 35) with solvent cleaning compound,

wire brush, and cloth. Clean strap liners (38) with soapy water. Rinse strap liners (38) with clear water.

2.

Inspect three fuel tank brackets (17 and 35) and mounting straps (16) for cracks, breaks, and badly rusted

areas. Inspect bracket liners (37) for brittleness, cracks, and breaks.

3.

Purge and clean fuel tank (14) (TM 43-0212) as required.

4.

Inspect fuel tank (14) for cracks, broken welds, and stripped threads.
