M969A3 Semitrailers have ROM capabilities. Refer to FM 10-67-1 for instructions on installing,
operating, and disassembling the ROM kit.

1-1/4 INCH HOSE EVACUATION
a.
Ensure all valves are closed.
b.
Ground and bond semitrailer per (WP 0007 00-6).
c.
Remove fire extinguishers and bring them to the point of operation.
d.
Start engine.
When engine is warm, adjust to idle speed (1000-1200 rpm).
e.
Open valves A, G, E, and K.
Open valve P or R (whichever was used) to evacuate
1-1/4 inch hose.
Open P or R hose reel nozzle.
f.
Set engine speed to maximum speed (2400 rpm) for a few seconds until evacuation
is completed.
(Meter turns back slowly until fuel is evacuated).
g.
Idle down engine.
h.
Close all valves.
i.
Shut off engine.
j.
Remove grounding and bonding cables.
k.
Store and cover fire extinguishers.
