BRAKE DRUM RE-BORE LIMITS AND/OR MAXIMUM WEAR DIAMETER
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
000106
1.
This information is furnished to advise the importance of the re-bore limits and/or maximum wear diameter as
shown on our Webb brake drums. This dimension is cast on brake drum as indicated in Figure 1. The dimension
is the maximum safe diameter to which a drum may be turned, ground, and/or worn.
2.
To ensure product safety, it is critical that any brake drum reaching this dimension by turning, grinding, and/or wearing be
considered unsafe and immediately replaced. Any brake drum exceeding this dimension is considered a safety hazard, and
is not subject to warranty consideration.
NOTE
Dimensions are in inches.
3.
The dimension shown on brake drums is the current maximum diameter and supersedes any previously published
information.
4.
Most Webb brake drums allow a maximum diameter of 0.120 over the nominal new diameter. This allows 0.080 for
re-boring and an additional 0.040 for wear.
