WARNING
The cannon tube must be blocked during cleaning to prevent cannon tube from returning to battery
resulting in injury to personnel.
CAUTION
Do not use abrasives other than crocus cloth when cleaning to prevent damage to the buffer piston
rod.

Block cannon tube (2) while out of battery with a 4”x4”x12” wooden block (29). Hold wooden block in posi-
tion and slowly release pump pressure until wooden block stops cannon tube movement. Rub crocus cloth
soaked with hydraulic fluid (item 21, Appx D) in a longitudinal direction, along the buffer piston rod (28) to
remove all discoloration.
