Rocker arm assembly is under spring tension.
Be careful when taking off retaining
ring or parts of rocker arm assembly will fly off, causing injury to personnel.
Hydraulic pump oil reservoir cover is spring loaded. Be careful when taking off
cover bolt so cover does not fly off.
Failure to do so may cause injury to personnel
or damage to equipment.
The voltage output of the ignition unit is strong enough to cause a dangerous elec-
trical shock. Do not touch any bare wires or connections during operation. Refer
to decal on unit.
Crankshaft is very heavy. Do not let fingers or hand get between crankshaft and
engine block. Do not let crankshaft bump engine block. Failure to use proper
caution may result in damage to equipment and injury to personnel.
Flywheel is very heavy. It should be lifted into place by two persons. After fly-
wheel is in position it must be held firmly until mounting bolts are put in. Failure
to do so may cause injury to personnel and or damage to equipment.
Pressure plate assembly is heavy.
It must be held firmly up and against flywheel
until mounting screws are put in.
If it is not held up, it will fall and cause injury
to personnel and damage to equipment.
Starter weighs fifty pounds. Be careful to hold it up firmly when taking it off
mounting studs.
Starter could fall and cause injury, to personnel and damage to
equipment.
Make sure all dynamometer power switches are set to OFF position. Test equipment
can cause an electrical shock and injure personnel.
During dynamometer test,be alert at all times during engine operation for exhaust
odors and exposure symptoms.
If either are present, immediately ventilate work
area. Permanent brain damage or death can result from severe exposure.
Use hearing protection during dynamometer test.
The test is very noisy and the
noise can cause damage to your hearing.
Smoking, sparks or open flame are not allowed within 50 feet of work area when
working on fuel system.
Fuel is highly flammable and can explode, causing injury
to personnel and damage to equipment.
Wear welder’s gloves when handling hot parts. Failure to do so will result in
serious burns.
The high fuel pressure used during fuel injector nozzle and holder assemblies
tests and checks can puncture the skin and cause blood poisoning and possible
death. Keep hands away from nozzle.
