(8)
Position ISO container offloading ramps (21) (Appendix G, paragraph G-2) or loading
platforms (6) (Appendix G, paragraph G-3) on the ground, in front of and against the ISO
container door opening so the CROP rollers can roll out of the ISO container and down the
offloading ramps (21) (Appendix G, paragraph G-2) or out of the ISO container and onto
the loading platforms (6) (Appendix G, paragraph G-3).
•
Do not stand between the CROPs and the ISO container. Ensure all personnel stand
clear of CROP when CROP is being moved. Failure to comply may result in severe
injury or death to personnel.
•
Exercise extreme caution to prevent contact between the PLS truck hook arm and top
of ISO container door opening. Failure to comply can result in damage to ISO con-
tainer door frame and/or door latches.
(9)
Position PLS truck in front of the ISO container and extend the PLS loading arm. Remove
the hook arm extension assembly from the PLS BII storage if the hook arm extension was
not removed from the rear of the CROP (S/N SC09001 and up) prior to loading (reference
paragraph 2-16.a (2)) or retrieve hook arm assembly from the floor of the ISO container,
located in front of the Multipurpose Provision Ring (between the CROP ISO bracing
mechanism and the A-frame). Connect the HAE to CROP, engage the PLS hook arm
assembly to the bail bar of the CROP and lift the front of the CROP (3) approximately 12
inches (30 cm) or as high as the load will allow while leaving room between the web strap
ratchets on top of the load (or deck of the top CROP as shown above) at the ceiling and
door frame of the ISO container.
